BPS Carnival awards £354,451 in prizes, bounties and satellite seats

Two weeks of tournament poker at Genting Casino Stratford produced 1,593 entries across six trophy events. The confirmed cash prize pools reached £312,226 before the separate Big Bounty bounty pool and satellite seats are included.

Long Chiu opened the trophy schedule by winning the BPS Big £10K, topping 138 entries for £5,150 from a £17,885 prize pool. Stephen Brown then won the 546-entry BPS200 Summer Edition, taking £20,170 from the £103,740 prize pool.

George Achillea became the BPS PLO 4/5/6 champion after 91 entries generated £11,671, while Ryan Johnson won the 115-entry BPS Big Bounty. That tournament paid £8,195 through the cash payout table and generated a further £8,625 in £75 bounties.

Elizabeth-Rose Morgan won the BPS Ladies Carnival title, collecting £1,600 from the £5,000 prize pool after 32 entries.

The festival closed with the £300 Carnival Main Event. A total of 671 entries created a confirmed £165,735 prize pool and 72 paid places. The final four agreed an ICM deal before play continued for the trophy, with Umberan Akhtar becoming the BPS Carnival Main Event champion.

Satellites were a major part of the festival: 60 BPS200 seats worth £235 each (£14,100) and 65 Carnival Main Event seats worth £300 each (£19,500) were awarded. That is £33,600 in satellite seats.

Across confirmed cash prize pools (£312,226), the separate Big Bounty bounty pool (£8,625) and satellite seats (£33,600), the BPS Carnival delivered £354,451 in total prizes and seats.

The Carnival is now complete, and the website moves forward to the September BPS200, with satellites starting Monday 7 September, official festival dates from Tuesday 8 September and Main Event flights from Wednesday 9 September.

BPS Big £10K Trophy Champion: Long Chiu

Long Chiu is the BPS Big £10K Trophy Champion after winning the £135+£25 No Limit Hold'em trophy event at Genting Casino Stratford.

The event drew 138 entries and created a £17,885 prize pool, with 16 players making the payouts.

Long Chiu topped the field to take the trophy and £5,150 first prize, ahead of Hady-Ahmed-Marian Sirbu in second and I W in third.

Early Bird packages are drawn after the relevant Day 1A tournament has started. Member Last Longer packages go to the last eligible BPS member standing in the relevant event, and players must be BPS members before late registration closes. Packages are non-transferable.

Razvan Lucian Wins July BPS200 After 710 Entries

Razvan Lucian won the July BPS200 London event at Genting Casino Stratford after 710 entries created a £134,900 prize pool.

The result closes the July festival and leads into the BPS Carnival, running 10-23 August with over £300,000 guaranteed.
