The Team

Meet the BPS owners

BPS is run with a live-event mindset: clear schedules, practical player information, strong guarantees, fast updates and a focus on making every festival feel like a proper poker occasion.

Lee Johnston

Co-Owner · British Poker Series

Lee Johnston has worked in poker for over three decades across five continents, building and advising live poker operations from local cardrooms to major international festivals. His experience covers event design, poker-room operations, online-to-live promotions and commercial partnerships.

At BPS, Lee focuses on the long-term plan: clear event structures, strong venue relationships, fair player systems and festivals that feel professional from registration to the final table.

Johnny "JK" Kelly

Co-Owner · British Poker Series

Johnny "JK" Kelly is a familiar face in UK poker, known by players for his table presence, humour and direct connection with the community. He has worked on both sides of the felt, including time as a Caesars cardroom manager, and is also a proven tournament player.

JK's playing record includes winning the PokerNews Cup in Las Vegas. At BPS, he brings that player perspective into the room, helping shape festivals that feel welcoming, competitive and properly run.

2026 Momentum

Results, attendance and community

BPS has built a current calendar around repeatable mid-stakes live poker, strong turnout, recognisable champions and player content that continues between festivals.
